Why Invest in a Hidden Dog Fence

Why You Should Invest In a Hidden Dog Fence

Pet owners really should be happy by the rate that technology is advancing to improve our lives today. One of the greatest advancements when it comes to the pet sector is the hidden dog fence. A hidden dog fence is composed of a transmitting unit that is installed on their property and a dog fence collar  that the dog wears. The transmitter then sets a certain boundary that your dog must stay within. This fence is invisible and cannot be seen as it is buried underground. Should the dog try to cross the hidden dog fence, it will be given a warning followed by a correction by its collar that will make it return to its safe zone.

There are many advantages to having a hidden dog  fence. The biggest advantage of course is the fact that the hidden fence keeps your dog from leaving  your property.  Keeping your dog from getting lost, damaging others property or heaven forbid getting injured. It also gives you peace of mind knowing your pet is safe at home. You also can exclude certain areas such as flower beds or children’s play areas or even rooms or furniture in you home

The ease of installation of the hidden dog fence is huge benefit. It will be much less work for you than installing any other fence. You don’t have to mow around it, paint it or constantly have to be wary of a gate left open.  All you have to do is bury the hidden dog fence wire around your property. This beats putting up an actual fence by far. You will also have the advantage that you do not have to sacrifice the natural beauty of your home by putting up a fence you actually do not need.

When choosing a hidden dog fence to purchase, make sure that you choose one which has been tested and has approved safety standards. Be sure to ask how much experience the company has with this type of fencing. With hidden dog fencing its not just about correcting you dog to stay in your yard but training them to respect the boundaries.

Puppy Fence Buyers Beware! Don’t Buy A Puppy Fence Until You Read This.

It has come to our attention there is at least one electronic dog company that is offering to put a puppy on their dog containment fence system as early as 8-12 weeks of age.

Please, don’t do this to your puppy!

Your puppy can be psychologically effected if this happens.  Behavior research has shown that each and every dog goes through a “fear imprint” phase from 6 to 16 weeks of age. Anything that can mentally effect them during this time can actually scar them for life.

  • This can mean a shy, timid and fearful dog.  Afraid of people, noises, the outside … almost anything.
  • This can mean a dog that goes to the bathroom in the house … even if it was previously house trained.
  • Or this can mean that your dog can grow up to become aggressive toward people or other animals.

People that would do this know nothing about dog behavior. It is cruel. It is barbaric. It is wrong.
No wonder some people think electronic underground fencing is harmful.

If you opt to invest your dog’s life with some other dog containment company … that is up to you. Please do not put your puppy on the fence system at this age. Confer with your dog trainer in regards to what they think is best.  I think that they will agree with our statements.

If we can help in any way, feel free to call us.  One thing we will never do is pressure you to buy an electric puppy fence.   Thank you.
